The History of E-Cigarettes and Vaporizers

USB-Powered-Mini-Electronic-Cigarette-Atomizer 6

E-cigarettes are the newest form of Nicotine replacement and have been growing by huge numbers year by year. In 2003, a 52 year old pharmacist, inventor and smoker in Beijing, China by the name of Hon Lik invented the first E-cigarette after his father, who was a heavy smoker, died of lung cancer. Hon Lik instantly saw the need for a way that smokers could get the Nicotine that they craved in a way that would be much safer than smoking tobacco would be. The company he worked for, Ruyan, developed the product and introduced it to the world in 2006.

E-cigarettes and Vaporizers work is by turning a liquid, usually a mix of flavoring, propylene glycol and Nicotine, and turning it into a vapor much like steam. This vapor is inhaled by the user and the Nicotine is absorbed into the lungs. Since the vapor is mainly steam, this dissipates into the body the same way it would if you inhaled steam in a shower. What makes E-cigarettes so appealing is that there is no carcinogenic smoke produced by the device or secondhand smoke to disturb others.

Since 2006 many variations of the electronic cigarette have been introduced into the world market including single use, rechargeable kits, vaporizers and even electronic cigars electronic pipes. In the beginning the only choice and flavors you had were either tobacco flavored or menthol. Today, flavors range from different types of tobaccos, different types of mint and just about every fruit flavor you can think of! Nicotine levels in these types of electronic cigarettes can range from 21 mg of Nicotine all the way down to 0mg.

In the Vaporizer category, you have the option to not only create your own flavors but create your own strengths as well. Vaporizers are relatively new to the category and are becoming more and more popular. Another new variation is called the E-Hookah. The E-Hookah works the same way a Vaporizer does in the fact that users can create flavors they love in a standard Hookah without the damaging smoke!

Ever since its inception in 2006, the E-cigarette/Vaporizer has grown by leaps and bounds and is probably the most popular product to help people quit smoking in the United States and is beginning to make its presence in Europe.
